Augusta, GA---Mrs. Sarah Dawson Fanning, 82, entered into rest on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Kentwood Nursing Facility.
Graveside services will be held tomorrow Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Westover Memorial Park with Reverend Andy Collins officiating.
Mrs. Fanning was a native of Glascock County Georgia, but had been a resident of Augusta since 1949. She was a member of the Presbyterian faith.
Mrs. Fanning was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar D. Fanning and by her son, David Fanning.
She is survived by her son, William E. Fanning, Sr. (Laura) of Augusta, a brother, Earl Dawson of Hephzibah, GA, two sisters, Dolly Waites (Herschel) of Louisville, GA and Rebecca Higdon of Greensboro, GA, three grandchildren, Kelli Frances (Tom), Melissa Johnson (Jeff) and William E. Fanning, Jr. (Amy) and eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
Anyone desiring to attend the services are asked, to meet at Westover Memorial Park.
