Obituary

HAVERHILL: Marion A. (Roussin) O’Brien, 91, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at her home on Hadley West Drive. She was the wife of the late Harold B. O’Brien who died in 1980.
Born in Lynn on October 6, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Alice (Smith) Roussin. She had resided in Lynn for many years before moving to Haverhill in 1959. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School and Lynn Classical High School.
Marion worked as a fancy stitcher in several shoe manufacturing firms in Lynn and Haverhill, including Goldberg Shoe Co. for many years before retiring in 1969. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cross word puzzles and loved to cook and bake. She was never known to complain and will be best remembered for her sincerity and her keen sense of humor. She was also a longtime communicant of All Saints Parish in Haverhill.
She is survived by her two sons, Harold B. O’Brien, Jr. of Bradford and Ronald R. O’Brien and his wife, Gail of North Adams; her daughter, Susan T. Card of Lynn; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Pearl Howard of Athol; two sons-in-law, Henry Wallis of Lynn and William Racine of Roswell, GA and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two daughters, Patricia M. Wallis and Sharon A. Racine, a son, Timothy J. O’Brien, granddaughter, Erin Lynn O’Brien and a sister, Alice Monette.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Ave. at Broadway, Haverhill at 12 noon. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
