Harrington, Betty J. of Marshfield, passed away on January 4, 2013 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late James P. Harrington. Loving mother of Cinderella Harrington of Lynn, Thomas S. Harrington and his wife Sharon of Hingham, Christopher Harrington and his wife Debra of Marshfield and Charles A. Harrington and his wife Cynthia of Dennis. Loving grandmother of Sean and Andrew Harrington of Virginia, Bridgette Harrington of Hingham, Christopher Jr., Katherine and Stephen Harrington of Marshfield and Travis, Adeline, Lily and Will Harrington of Dennis. Daughter of the late Thomas S. and Marion (Messenger) McCoubrey. Betty was born and raised in Gardener, Maine. She graduated from Gardner High School. Betty attended the Melrose Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as an R.N. at Massachusetts General Hospital, The VA Hospital in Brockton for 40 years and the South Shore Hospital. Betty was a nurse for the first heart transplant while working at MA General Hospital. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Betty loved her family.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 8 at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Christine’s Church, 1295 Main St. Rte. 3A in Marshfield at 9:00 a.m.
Interment in MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 11:15.
