Obituary

GRANBY – Gertrude A. “Gert” (Dube) Fredette, 77, of Granby was Called Safely Home on Thursday, January 3, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on February 25, 1935, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Langelier) Dube. She was raised in Fall River and came to Holyoke around 1956. She moved to Granby in 1977 and lived there for the remainder of her life. She was employed by the Interall Corporation in Granby and had last worked as a housekeeper at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley before retiring in 1997. Gert was loved by her family and friends and was known for her “spicy attitude” towards life. She adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Joseph Dube; her loving husband, Normand W. Fredette who was Called Home on February 1, 1983; and her loving son-in-law, Michael R. Molin who was Called Home on February 19, 1988. She leaves her devoted children, Michael D. Fredette of South Hadley, Robin M. Molin of Granby with whom she lived, Todd M. Maziarz and his wife, Lynnette of Granby and Scott R. Maziarz and his wife, Laura of Chicopee; her five cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Jennifer and Michelle Molin and Paige Lynn, Stephen and Christopher Maziarz; her three cherished great-grandchildren who were the apple of her eye, Jesse Molin, Summer Molin and Ty Michael Molin Kostanski; her dear sister, Pauline Beaudreau of Chicopee; her dear niece, Tammy Breault and her husband, Mark of Granby; her dear nephew, Gil Beaudreau and his wife, Cathy of Holyoke; and several dear grandnephews and grandnieces. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private at the convenience of her family. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in her memory to the American Heart Association Founders Affiliate, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
