Joseph P. Timulty, Sr., age 73 of Norton, formerly of Hingham passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Home and Hospice Care Center in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of the late Sandra Timulty.
Born in Boston, MA on February 12, 1939, he was a dear son of the late Thomas F. and Mary A. (Martin) Timulty.
He grew up in the Dorchester section of Boston and was educated in Boston parochial schools. He furthered his education and was a graduate of Bentley College where he received his degree as an accountant. He had also attended Suffix University. During the Vietnam Era, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Timulty had been employed for many years as an accountant at Boston Financial. Following his retirement, he worked as a manager of the Pro Shop at the MGA golf course in Norton.
A resident of Norton for the past 8 years, Joe was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton. He was a former member and controller of the United Way in Boston.
When not spending time with family, his greatest passion was playing golf. Joe will always be remembered for his kindness to others and his sociable mannerism. He was a true friend to all.
He is survived by his devoted children, Meredith Timulty of Florida, Joanne Becker of Pennsylvania and Joseph Timulty, Jr. of Hawaii. He was the dear brother of Theresa DiLeo of Winchester, Evelyn Timulty of Hull and the late Kathleen. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, several; nieces and nephews and his close friend Carol Laidlaw of Norton.\
A private Funeral Mass was held at St. Mary’s Church in Norton. Private burial will take place at a later date.
