Josie Mims McCall, 93, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday afternoon at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Greg Carroll and Rev. James Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 P.M. Friday.
Mrs. McCall was born December 8, 1910, in Poulan, Georgia, to the late Joseph Jackson Mims and Mattie King Mims. She lived in Fitzgerald most all of her life and was retired with more than 50 years of service with Fitzgerald Mills. A loving and energetic mother and grandmother, Mrs. McCall was “everybody’s best friend.” She was a member of Crossview Baptist Church.
Mrs. McCall is survived by four children: Geraldine McCall Evans, Tacoma, Washington; Robert L. “Bob” McCall, Ocilla, Georgia; Jack L. McCall, West Palm Beach, Florida; Barbara Jo McCall, Fitzgerald; one sister: Doris Adams, Fitzgerald; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, John W. “Dud” McCall, two grandchildren, Lori Sue Evans and Robert Keith McCall, three brothers and two sisters.
