Gunter Erdman, 73, of Medway and formerly of Walpole died January 2 in Milford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Hamburg, Germany, January 6, 1939, the son of the late Paul and Gertrude (Hasselberg) Erdman, Mr. Erdmann was raised in Germany and came to America in 1960.
He first lived in Somerville for several years before moving Walpole where he lived until moving to Medway eight years ago.
An inventor, he was the owner of QTS Engineering Company for many years.
Mr. Erdman held thirteen U.S. Patents for inventions that were used in the electronics field.
Mr. Erdman had been an outstanding soccer player.
He had played for the Norwood Kickers and in 1969-1970 he was a forward on the team which won the Bay State Championship.
He is survived by his son Thomas Erdman and his wife Gina of East Walpole.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Mason and Drew.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday January 8 in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main Street, Walpole from 6-8 p.m.
