Obituary

John C. Wilhelm, IV, 89, of Franklin died January 1, in his home. He is the husband of Marjorie (Woodward) Wilhelm.
Born in Mansfield, February 26, 1923, the son of the late John C. and Margaret (Nelson) Wilhelm III, Mr. Wilhelm had been a resident of Franklin for the past 65 years.
Mr. Wilhelm was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Stockbridge with a degree in in animal husbandry.
Mr. Wilhelm had been a dairy farmer for many years. He had also been a salesman for hay and two way radios.
Mr. Wilhelm had operated his own Real Estate Company and also owned and operated the Alarm Man alarm company for 15 years before retiring.
Mr. Wilhelm had been a member of the Odd Fellows of Franklin and he had been a past Deacon of the Franklin Federated Church.
Mr. Wilhelm served in the Army during World War II.
John enjoyed golfing and driving anything with a motor.
He enjoyed fishing and being with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John C. Wilhelm, V and his wife Claire of Northbridge, Cindy Lavallee and her husband Roger of Uxbridge and Eric Wilhelm of Franklin.
He was the brother of the late Marian White.
He is also survived by his six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
His funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street in Franklin at Noon.
Burial will be in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
