WEBSTER – Walter L. Jankot, 92, of 14 Cedar Drive, died Thursday, July 1, in Hubbard Regional Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 70 years, Adele (Zulkiewicz) Jankot; a daughter, Dorothy J. Karpowich of Irvine, CA; 2 brothers, Adam and Joseph Jankot, both of Putnam, CT; 2 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and nephews and nieces.
He was born in Webster and raised in Putnam, a son of Albert and Louise (Jekot) Jekot. He moved to Webster about 25 years ago. He was a graduate of Putnam High School.
Mr. Jankot was a carpenter for several local construction companies, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. He was once a member and past president of the carpenters’ union.
No funeral services are planned. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
