Joyce, John of Marshfield, passed away on January 1, 2013 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Mary (O’Malley) Joyce. Loving father of Mary T. Dopp and her husband John of Hudson, NH, Irene A. Humel and her husband Frank of Derry, NH, John P. Joyce and his wife Jeanne D. Taylor of Durham, NC and Stephen Joyce of Plymouth. Loving grandfather of Rebecca and Bridget Dopp, Madeleine and Liam Humel and Olivia and Delia Joyce. Dear brother of Mary King-Scott of Cape Cod, Peggy Joyce of Ireland, Patrick Joyce of Ireland and the late Peter Joyce and Michael Joyce. Dear father in law of Laura Joyce. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late John and Bridget (King) Joyce. John was born and raised in County Galway, Ireland. He moved to Marshfield in 1964. John worked for Scituate Concrete Pipe for 43 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going clamming on Duxbury Beach. Last year John fulfilled his lifelong dream of salmon fishing in Alaska with his son. John was an outdoorsman. He loved to garden and cut down trees. Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, January 5 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Christine’s Church, 1295 Main St. Rte. 3A, Marshfield at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Couch Cemetery.
