David L. Higgins Sr. of Onset formerly of Taunton passed away on Monday, January 2, 2013. He was 85 years old. He was born in Maine; son of the late Fred & Edith (Davis) Higgins. He was the husband of Shirley (Inglis) Higgins and the father of David Higgins Jr.and his wife Jane Higgins of Foxboro and Diane Carveiro and her husband Wayne S. Carveiro of Taunton. He was the brother of Kendall Higgins of Taunton, Carroll Higgins of CT, and the late Sherwood Higgins. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
David was a graduate of Taunton High School Class of 1944. He was also a graduate of Northeastern University. David was a Navy Veteran of WII. He was the owner of Higgins Piano and Organ Studios. He enjoyed Tai-Chai, music, electronics, walking and gardening.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 4, from 4-8 pm in the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St., Taunton. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am in the funeral home with interment to follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery in E. Taunton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
