Obituary

Benjamin Gurley, 84, of Stark, NH died Monday, December 31, 2012, at his home. He was born on December 11, 1928 in Derry, NH a son of the late Richard and Ethel (Chase) Gurley. He was a resident of Stark since 1999, formerly living in Derry. Ben was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry and attended UNH. He proudly served his country with the US Army during WWII and the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post #1617 in Derry, The American Legion Lester Chase Post #9 in Derry, the D.A.V. Post #1 in Manchester and BPOE.
He is survived by five sons, John Gurley of Goffstown, Bruce Gurley and Darryl Gurley, both of Derry, Kevin Gurley of Manchester, and Benjamin Gurley of California, three daughters, Lynne Gurley of Manchester, Rebecca Bettez of Candia, and Kathy Ball of Derry, 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son Alan Gurley in 2010.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 1 - 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 7th at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry.
