Mrs. Ruby Dean Waldron Kirkland, age 83, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Kirkland was born on September 14, 1929 to the late Marvin Waldron and Pearlie Carver Waldron.
Survivors include: two sons: Oscar (Rhonda) Kirkland, Jr. and Anthony A (Crystal) Kirkland; two sisters: Shirlene (Roy) Davis and Ruth (Charles) Adams; One brother: Wendell (Shirly)Waldron; Seven Grandchildren: Keria Mercer; Brittany Kirkland; Jason Foskey; LeAnne Kirkland; Macy Kirkland; Ciara Kirkland; and Alona Kirkland; Five Great grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Mrs. Kirkland enjoyed many years at her beloved "Eastside Baptist Church"where she was a member. She will also be remembered for her service to the Douglas Community as a bank Teller at The Farmers Bank, Trust Company Bank and Suntrust Bank, after retiring from banking she work at South Georgia College.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 1, 2013, from 6 to 9 PM at Sims Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Union Primitive Baptist Church (Paulk Family) Cemetery, Lax, GA. Dr. John Dobbins will be officiating. Sims Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
