Obituary

Herman J. “Woody” Espinola age 88 of Salem, NH, died Saturday at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House.

He was born in Lawrence, MA, where he grew up and attended schools, and graduated from Lawrence High School. He was a resident of Salem for over 60 years.

Woody was a self employed plumber and owned E & E Mechanicals in Salem. He was a Master Plumber and Pipe fitter for local union 12 in Boston, MA. He was also vice president of Gaffney’s Plumbing in Middleton, MA.

Woody was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart. He was a fabulous ball room dancer. He enjoyed tinkering at home, building and fixing things. Woody will always be known as a kind and generous man.

He was the son of the late Enzilino & Mary (Piexhote) Espinola. He was also predeceased by his sisters: Dorothy Reitano & Gloria Jacinto.

He is survived by his wife Gail (McQuaid) Espinola of Salem

Michael Espinola of Derry, NH, Steven Espinola of Hampstead, NH

Step Daughter: Cheryl Ann & her husband Steven Acuna of Temecula, CA

# 1 Son: Richard Colmer & his wife Anna of Plaistow, NH

Special Nephew: Harry Enus & his wife Ginny of Pelham, NH

His love of his life, his dog Sadie

17 Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 3rd at 10:30 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Jan. 2nd from 4-7 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Animal Rescue League, 4 Sarl Dr, Salem, NH 03079.
