Obituary

GEORGE E. HALEY, of Cohasset, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29th, 2012 at the South Shore Nursing Facility in Rockland at the age of 90. Mr. Haley was born in Cohasset and was a lifelong resident of the town. He served with the United States Coast Guard during World War II in the North Atlantic, the Mediterranean, the invasion of Southern France and was the recipient of 3 bronze stars. While on convoy duty was involved in the sinking of a German submarine. Mr. Haley was a letter carrier for over 20 years in Cohasset retiring in 2002 and was also a well known self-employed locksmith also in Cohasset. He was a long time member of the George H. Mealy American Legion Post # 118 and the VFW both in Cohasset.

Mr. Haley was the uncle of Carol Oliver of Hingham, Mary Beth Haley of Waltham and Robert F. Haley of Uxbridge. Brother of the late James M. Haley, Jr., William Haley, John F. Haley, Herbert P. Haley and Mildred Bonomi.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, April 24th at 1 PM at the Woodside Cemetery, North Main St., Cohasset.
