Charles William Landes, Jr.
May 7, 1927 to Dec. 27, 2012

Charles William Landes, Jr., 85, of Anderson died December 27, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Charles was born May 7, 1927 to Charles William and Della Sadie (Brooks) Landes in Anderson where he lived all of his life.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the 11th Regiment to occupied China during WW II.

He worked production at Delco Remy 43 years before retiring in 1993.

He was a member of West Cross Street Alliance Church; Moonsville Conservation Club; VFW Post 266; UAW Local 662; life member of Roosevelt Kennedy Club; he attended Ball State University.

He is survived by his wife Charlotte Marie (Fillmann) Landes of Anderson, whom he married December 28, 1947; children Della Swain of Warsaw; Doris (Larry) Allen of Butlerville; Diana McNew of Ogden, Utah; Charles Andrew (Lisa) Landes of Fairmount; eight grandchildren: Michelle (Troy) Barrand of Fort Wayne; Laura (Clint) Vandergrifft of Muncie; Ken Swain Jr. of Warsaw; Chris (Joni) Allen of Alexandria; Diana Renae McNew of Ogden, Utah; Valerie McNew of Ogden, Utah; David McNew of Ogden, Utah; Kelly Howard (Stacy) of Jacksonville, FL; twelve great grandchildren; 3 siblings Don Landes of Anderson; Ruth (Richard) Baxter of Fort Wayne and Phil (Marilyn) Landes of Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Service will be 10 AM on Monday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Bob Brown officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the VFW Post 266 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 29 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Community Home Hospice of Anderson.
