Obituary

Manchester-Blanche A. Wurtele, 94, died December 28, 2012 at Bedford Hills after a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on November 17, 1918 the daughter of Napoleon and Yvonne (Clermont) Therrien and had been a lifelong resident of this city. She was raised by Leah Marchand.
She was a volunteer at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home for 23 years, she loved music and was a member of the choir at St. George and St. Anthony churches, she was also a member of the Hooksetites. For many years she organized a walking group around Lake Massabesic and set up dart Games at Derryfield Country Club. She and her husband owned Manchester Coal & Oil Co.
Members of her family include two sons, Robert Wurtele and his companion Rita Moore of Manchester, Richard Wurtele and his wife Jeanne of Hooksett, two daughters Claire Coderre and her husband Gus of Manchester, Janice Wurtele of Concord, eight grandchildren, Debbie, Karen, Kristine, Kimberley, Lee, Justy, Stephanie, Abi, 14 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years Edgar C. Wurtele on January 26, 2012 and a daughter June Day, wife of Byron Day of Auburn, on September 18, 2007.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 PM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home 110 Bridge St., a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in St. Anthony Church. Committal prayers will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
