Mary Shirley (Honohan) Johnson, died peacefully Monday evening December 24, 2012 after a short illness at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. Shirley was born in Lawrence, MA and was a lifelong resident of Lawrence. She was the daughter of the late William J. and Nora (Driscoll) Honohan, Sr. She attended Lawrence Public Schools and graduated from McIntosh College. She retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Transitional Assistance after 25 years of dedicated service as a social worker. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen, Deborah and Linda Johnson, all of Lawrence, MA, and Noreen McComish wife of Dean McComish of Derry, NH and her son Richard Johnson Jr. of Lawrence, MA. She was the loving grandmother to Sean Johnson of North Andover, MA., Dean McComish Jr. husband of Sherri McComish and Andrew McComish of Derry, NH. She is also survived by her brother William Honohan Jr. and his wife Dorothy (Melvin) of Salem, NH. Shirley was predeceased by her three sisters Rita Beaulieu, Kathleen Honohan, and Eileen French, and two brothers Robert Honohan and Francis Honohan. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Saint Augustine Chapel in Lawrence, MA. She enjoyed cooking and family trips to Florida.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 31st, 2012 at 12:00 noon in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Saint Augustine Chapel, at 128 Ames Street, Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
