Obituary

SPENCER: Frederick W. Gatto, Jr. 74. God took a good man home, on Dec. 27tth, 2012. He surrendered to a long battle with cancer at home with his family at his side.

He leaves his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol A. (Mercier) Gatto, four daughters Cathy Brennan and her husband Tom of Danielson, Ct., Kelley Grenier and her husband Bryan of Spencer, Pamela Sagendorph of Brookfield, and Jennifer Haynes and her husband Sean of Spencer, his son Joseph Gatto of Clearwater, Fl., two sisters Arlene Norsigian and Gloria Faulkner of Spencer, nieces and nephews. He loved his fishing and archery, but nothing compared to spending time with his 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Fred was a dedicated family man and was always there to help a friend. He was a metal forger at Wyman Gordon Co. in Grafton for 33 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish and the Bay Path Archery Club.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of Frederick W. Gatto, Sr. and Marie (Dube) Gatto. He later served his country bravely with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

The funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 31 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 5p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Mary, Queen of the Rosary Memorial Fund, 60 Maple St., Spencer, 01562 or Overlook Masonic Hospice, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, Ma. 01507.
