Robert William Robinson, Born March 27, 1929- Passed away December 25, 2012

Robert William Robinson of Ipswich Massachusetts passed away December 25, 2012 from a sudden illness.
Robert Robinson, known to many as “Robby” or “Uncle Bob” graduated from Beverly High School in 1946. He attended Tilton Prep School in Tilton New Hampshire in 1947 before attending (on full academic and athletic scholarships) the University of Missouri for two (2) years and Georgia Tech for two years and graduating from Georgia Tech in 1952 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management. He played football at both collages playing in the Gator Bowl and also in the Orange Bowl. Robby was a terrific athlete throughout his entire life. He holds the record for the number of letters earned in three (3) years at Beverly High School. He earned a total of 13 letters as a sophomore, Junior and Senior. His sports were football, basketball, baseball, golf and track. He earned 5 varsity letters in his senior year. Robby was voted into the Beverly High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003 and he also gained national fame with his ability to throw a football “Behind His Back”. He demonstrated this in the Cotton Bowl, Madison Square Garden and was on the NESN TV show “Front Row”
Robby served for many years in the U.S. Air Force, first as a 2nd Lieutenant and then as a 1st Lieutenant. He took the R.O.T.C. at Georgia Tech. The majority of his employment years were with the Chemical Division (Bostik) of the United Shoe Machinery Corp., in Sales, Sales Marketing, and Customer Service and as a marketing manager. Since 1985 Robby has been the Club Professional at Candlewood Golf Club in Ipswich Mass. He also took part in the family ice cream business located on Argilla Road in Ipswich Mass.
Robby is predeceased by his Father, Ambrose (Bud) Robinson, Mother, Marion K. Robinson and Sister, Ann L. Deschenes. He leaves behind his wife, Sally Robinson of London England, Cousin, Eleanor Edgar of Inglewood CA, Niece Kathryn M Dyer of Turner Maine and husband William, Niece Terry A. Monbleau of Turner Maine and husband Joe, Nephew, Scott R. Deschenes of Lewiston Maine, Nephew, Randall R. Deschenes of Middleton, MA and wife Dawn, and Brother in Law, Roger A. Deschenes of Turner Maine. Robby also leaves behind (9) great nieces and nephews, Chad Dyer, Annie Dyer, Paige Dyer, Charlsie Monbleau, Dana Monbleau (all of Turner Maine) Ryan Deschenes, Joshua Deschenes, Spencer Deschenes and Robby Deschenes all of Middleton Mass.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday January 4, at 2:15 PM in The Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA
