Marjorie May Hardy (Bassingthwaite) Kawabata, 88, of Clarksville, TN, died on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center. She was born on January 3, 1924 in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late Harry Thomas Hardy and Esther Kirkland Hardy. She was preceded in death by her son, John B. Bassingthwaite; three brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother Mike Madewell officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 3-6 p.m. and Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 12:30 until the time of service at the funeral home.
Marjorie was a dedicated homemaker with family and children being her primary focus.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Kawabata of Clarksville, TN; four sons, Edward (Scarlet) Bassingthwaite of Brownsboro, TX, Thomas (Gloria) Bassingthwaite of Clarksville, TN, Steve (Karen) Bassingthwaite of Tampa, FL, and Ronald (Kimberly) Bassingthwaite of Elkton, KY; three daughters, Patricia (Ralph) Lowell of Mt. Kisco, NY, Sue (Carl) Wall of Clarksville, TN, and Donna (John) Wolitski of Clarksville, TN; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tim Bassingthwaite, Brandon Bassingthwaite, Shon Wolitski, Warren Bassingthwaite, Billy Wall, Michael Wall, Jason Wall, and Rick Merrell.
