Obituary

John J. Hay, III, 55, a resident of both Lawrence, MA, and Boars Head at Hampton Beach, NH, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Born in Medford, MA, John came to Lawrence at an early age and was educated in the Lawrence Schools
and was a 1975 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He had worked for 25 years at Allied Car Hauling in Westbrough-Framingham, MA. Most recently he had worked for Transgas in Lowell as well as Boston Sand and Gravel. John had been a member of numerous organizations in the area including the Road and Gun Club of Lawrence, the Sargent Improvement Club, the British Club, and the Fireman's Reliefs Inn. He was also a member of the Teamsters local 25 and 170. John enjoyed spending time on his boat in Newburyport. He loved Hockey and was one of the original members of Lawrence Youth Hockey.

The son of the late John J. Hay, Jr., and Eileen (O'Brien) Hay, members of John's family include:
his wife: Susan E. (Gardella) Hay,
aunts: Patricia A. Finneran and Eileen Gray,
his mother-in-law: Anne Gardella, and his beloved dog Thunder.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick's Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, also in Lawrence. Family and friends may call on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 MERRIMACK ST., NORTH ANDOVER, MA.
