Joe Lee Harris, 42, of Water Valley, MS died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at North MS Medical Center of Tupelo, MS. Born January 10, 1970, he was a son of Harvey Lynwood Harris and Bennie Madlock Woodard. He worked many years as a maintenance supervisor for the Water Valley Housing Authority before his health failed. He was a member of Pine Grove East Missionary Baptist Church, and he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Visitation is planned for Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 10 until 11 AM at the City Auditorium in Water Valley. Services will begin at 11 with the Rev. Ervin Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove East MB Church with Chris Pascul, Willie Caldwell, Corey Booker, Terry Hoskins, Goldie Hervey and Greg Spearman serving as pallbearers. Tracy Townsend, Danny Townsend, Hugh Caldwell, Gregory Buck, Wayne Spearman and Fred Campbell will serve as honorary pallbearers.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Delain Harris, JoDarion Harris, and Shanquayle Jenkins, all of Water Valley, MS; his mother, Bennie Woodard of Water Valley, MS; his father Harvey Lynwood Harris of Water Valley, MS; four sisters, Lendar Harris of Water Valley, MS, Hattie (Eric) Harris of Water Valley, MS, Jennifer Harris of Oxford, MS, and Harisha Harris of Coffeeville, MS; three brothers, Harvey N. Harris of Water Valley, MS, Jerome (Tasha) Harris of Water Valley, MS and Terry Tallie of Tupelo, MS; and his grandmother, Clister Hervey of Water Valley, MS.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nelson and Hattie Harris.
