Originally from Charlestown, he spent many years of his life in Somerville, Medford, Boston, Lakeville, and Battle Creek, Michigan.
He was the cherished father of Mary Welch of Somerville, Patricia Welch of Lakeville, Patrick Welch of Lakeville and Richard Welch of Battle Creek, Michigan.
Proud grandfather of Addison Patrica Graham of Lakeville.
A devoted brother of Theresa Lang, Edward “Ned” Welch, John Welch, Joseph Welch, and the late Loretta Welch, Mildred Wall, Lillian Boutilier, Richard "Dapper" Welch, Michael “Midnight Mike” Welch, Leo “The Cat” Welch and William Welch.
Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral from the Brown-Flaherty Funeral Home, 261 Washington Street, Union Square, Somerville on Saturday at 9am.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis de Sales Church, Charlestown at 10am.
Relatives and friends gratefully invited.
Visiting hours Friday 4-8pm.
Interment will be private.
