Obituary

WOOD, William Weatherly “Woody”, 93, formerly of Louisville went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday December 22, 2012 at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, Indiana. He was born in Chester, PA on May 3, 1919. Woody was an Army veteran in the 5th Armored Division during WWII and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a former member of Emmanuel Methodist Church, past president of Bindery Local Union, member of Suburban Lodge #740 F&AM, and member of the AINAD Shrine of Illinois. He retired from World Color Press in Salem, Illinois formerly known as Faucet &Haynes of Louisville as a superintendent.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Viola (May) Wood and brother, Robert S. Wood.
Survivors include his son, George A. Wood (Nancy); grandchildren, Theresa Deacon (Terry) and Angela Wood; great grandchildren, April Haney and Jennifer Deacon; and great great grandchildren, Jacob Haney and Jayden Deacon.
Funeral service will be 11am Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 3-8 at the funeral home.
