George J. Racine, age 80, of Roslindale, formerly of Roxbury on December 23, 2012. He grew up in Roxbury, and was a combat engineer in the Korean War who built bridges and cleared minefields. He worked for many years at Drake Bakeries. George enjoyed Phillies blunt cigars, Chinese food, scratch tickets and Boston sports. A loyal friend, especially to
those who struggled, he lived in Roslindale House where he was recognized for volunteering. Survived by his caring friend Joan Tolosa, Terry Burke and family, and many other friends. Memorial
service at Roslindale House, 120 Poplar Street, 3 pm on Tuesday, January 8th. Memorial contributions may be made to Roslindale House. George was interred at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on January 2, 2013 at 2 PM with Military Honors.
