Mrs. Claire R. (Huot) Laroche, 93, formerly of 509 Champlain Street in Berlin passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She was born in Berlin on December 15, 1919 the daughter of Antonio and Beatrice (Dutil) Huot and was a lifelong resident of Berlin. On July 29, 1940 she married Romeo D. Laroche and together they raised three children. She graduated from Guardian Angel School and later owned and operated “Claire’s Beauty Shop for many years and also worked for “Leo’s Beauty Shop before her retirement. She continued to give haircuts to relatives and friends for many years. She also enjoyed visiting the elderly in their homes or at the nursing homes giving perms, haircuts, and running errands for many of them.
Members of her family include her sons Ronald K. Laroche and his wife Sharon of Berlin, NH, Dennis R. Laroche and his wife Diane of Berlin, NH and Giles Laroche of Salem, MA; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; sisters Helen Allaire of Franconia, NH and Cecile Morin and her husband Omer of Berlin, NH; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband Romeo D. Laroche; her brothers Robert Huot and his wife Fleurette and Leo Huot and his wife Pauline.
SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue in Berlin. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Berlin. There will be no calling hours. Anyone who wishes may make a donation to either the A.V.
