CHARLTON/WEBSTER – Pauline A. D. Jacob, 85, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 in Webster Manor after an illness.
She leaves 2 nieces, 4 nephews, and nieces and nephews to the fourth generation. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Leonard and Edward Jacob and by a sister, Hortense Lefebvre.
Born and raised in Webster, a daughter of Joseph A. and Marie E. (Pelland) Jacob, she lived here all her life before moving to her niece’s home in 2007. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1945.
Miss Jacob worked as a bi-focal operator at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for 33 ½ years before retiring in 1982.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She enjoyed golfing and her visits to the casino. Her family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Webster Manor for their outstanding compassion and support for Pauline in her last days.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, December 26, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A calling period will be from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Wednesday in the funeral home.
