Obituary

June L. (Potter) Lach, age 68, of East Freetown died December 18, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness.

She was the wife of Frank A. Lach.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Dorothy M. (Grew) Potter of Dartmouth and the late Elmer A. Potter, she lived in East Freetown most of her life.

June was a retired teacher and coach at Dartmouth High School. June enjoyed coaching softball but field hockey was her passion and during her 34 years at Dartmouth High School June led many of her teams to championship seasons. In 2009 she was inducted into the Dartmouth High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

She loved spending time with her family, friends, and traveling to Atlantic City. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband; her mother; 2 daughters, Stacey Bock and her husband James of West Wareham and Tenley Newman and her husband Michael of Michigan; 3 step-daughters, Stephanie Lees and her husband Richard of Oklahoma, Gretchen Correia and her husband Manny of Florida and Jennifer Menino and her husband Jeff of Connecticut; 2 sisters, Nancy Smith and her husband Robbins of Florida and Marcia Picard of Dartmouth; 8 grandchildren, Emily Bock, Grace Newman, Chelsea and Nicholas Lees, Katie and Devin Correia and Christopher and Jack Menino; and several nieces and nephews.

Her private Funeral Service was held on Saturday, December 22nd in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street New Bedford. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Dartmouth.
