Obituary

Joseph Peter Landolfi, “ THE NUTS AND BOLTS GUY” also affectionately known as “JOE” and a lifelong resident of Stoughton, passed away on Sunday December 16, 2012 at the Golden Living Center of Attleboro. He was 84 years old and the beloved husband of the late Ann E. (Gould) who passed away in 2009’. He is survived by his loving son Thomas J. Landolfi of Stoughton and his grandson Clinton A. Landolfi also of Stoughton. Other survivors include his brothers Richard Landolfi and wife Christine, Fred Landolfi and wife Eileen, Eugene Landolfi and wife Loretta, Paul Landolfi and wife Mary, Edward Landolfi and wife Eileen, William Landolfi, sisters, Mary Dorios and husband David, Ann Dugay, sister’s in law, Barbara Landolfi, Elaine Landolfi and 56 nieces and nephews. He was also a brother to the late Frank and Charles Landolfi and a brother in law to the late Joseph Dugay.

Born November 20, 1928 in Stoughton, Massachusetts Mr. Landolfi was a son to the late John and Jenny (DeVito) Landolfi. He attended Stoughton Public Schools and Stoughton High School.

Joe was a self-employed salesman in the automobile parts and fasteners industry for over 42 years. He was the proud owner of the former Atlantic Automotive and T & J Enterprises. Joe was a town meeting member for over 35 years representing both precincts 2 and 8. He was recognized in 2005’ for serving over 25 years as a member of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee. He had been a registrar of Voter from 2002’ – 2008’. He was a delegate and former Treasurer to the Old colony Planning Council back in the 1970’s. Joe was credited with securing an Urban Mass Transportation Grant in the 1980’s that funded restoration improvements to the Stoughton Railroad Station. Mr. Landolfi was a longtime member and former chairman along with his late wife Ann of the Diaconate Board at the First Congregational Church of Stoughton. Joe was also a member and Past Master of Rising Star Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Stoughton, a member and Past President of the Sons of Italy in Stoughton and the Stoughton Rotary Club.
