Obituary

Harry E. Krone of Needham formerly of Marstons Mills, a former Electrical contractor, died suddenly after a brief illness on Sunday June 27th. Mr. Krone was raised in southern Illinois on his family’s farm and his life was indelibly marked by his experiences there during the depression. He enlisted in the Army prior to World War II and was stationed before the war at Fort Devens, Massachusetts where he met his bride to be, Stella Demogenes, with whom he shared 42 wonderful years of marriage before her death. Mr. Krone served in Persia during the War and married Stella upon his return. Shortly thereafter he formed the Harry E. Krone Electrical Contracting Company and performed electrical services for many of the areas most famous hotels, restaurants and businesses. He embraced Greek Orthodoxy in 1948 and became an active member of the Dormition Parish in Somerville and St. George Parish in Hyannis. He was a devoted communicant of the Greek Orthodox faith and enjoyed his many years of service to his religion and parishes. His greatest joy was being with his family and he devoted his energies to their happiness. No one to participate in sports or hobbies, his spare time spent in his garden and his yard provided endless hours of satisfaction. He is survived by his son Michael and his wife Linda of Westwood, his grandchildren Cassandra, Lauren and Nicholas Krone all of Westwood and Wayne Neas of Kansas son of his late daughter Elaine. Great grandfather to Skyler, Casey and Amber Neas. He is also survived by his brothers Bob, Fred, Butch and Clarence Krone and sister Viola Van Dyke all of Illinois. Also survived by his loving brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Thursday July 1st at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral service at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston at 10:00 AM . Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 6-9 PM. Interment services at Edson Cemetery in Lowell. In lieu of flowers donations in Harry’s name may be made to the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 57 Brown St. Weston MA 02493.
