Edwin E. Welch, 86, of Stoneham, formerly a 47-year resident of Winchester, passed away at home on Dec. 20, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Lordan) Welch. Born and raised in Somerville, Mr. Welch was the Director of Fleet Maintenance at Cumberland Farms Gulf for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed vacationing in Dennis on Cape Cod and further honed his skills by fixing cars. He also took great pleasure in spending time with his six grandchildren. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Welch was the loving father of Patricia Welch and her husband Ward Loveland of Redwood City, CA, and Kathleen Welch-Torres and her husband Edward, of West, Hills, CA, Ted Welch and his wife Danielle of Woburn. He was also the dear brother of Jean Ledeux and her husband Dwayne of Billerica, and cousin of Richard Welch and his wife Gini of Stonington, CT, and is further survived by his adoring grandchildren: Chris, Ted, Phil, Connor, Marie and Parker. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Costello Funeral Home 177 Washington St., Winchester on Thurs. Dec. 27 @ 9AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester at 10AM. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. Visiting Hours will be held in the funeral home on Wed. from 4-8PM.
