Obituary

Sarafine F. Perry, 86, a retired Danvers firefighter, died Tuesday evening at Beverly Hospital. He was the husband of the late Betty (McInnis) Perry.
Born in Danvers on March 7, 1926, he was the son of the late Sarafine and Sara (Cunha) Perry. He was raised and educated in Peabody and served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He had been a Danvers resident since his marriage in 1954.
Mr. Perry served on the Danvers Fire Department for nearly thirty-five years, retiring in 1988.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Danvers Fish & Game Club. He enjoyed tying his own flies and travelled to Alaska on fishing trips twice. A member of the Knights of Columbus, Thomas E. Power Council #1505, he also enjoyed painting in acrylic and watercolors.
He is survived by his children, Mary Perry of Danvers, Barbara Ineson and her husband David of Amesbury, Priscilla (Smith) Perry of Danvers, and Thomas Perry and his wife Paula of Danvers, five grandchildren, Shannon Cyr and her husband Michael, Daniel Smith and his wife Lindsey, James and Jacob Ineson, and Heather Smith, two great grandchildren, Thomas and Charlotte, his siblings, Frances McLaughlin and Daniel Muise of Peabody and Florence Kipouras of Beverly, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Alice Kardenetz, John Perry, and Larry and G. Raymond Muise.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at 9AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of the Danvers Council on Aging, 25 Stone St., Danvers, MA 01923.
