Rocco Federico died peacefully at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on Tuesday evening. He was 77.
Born and raised in Pettorano sul Gizio, Italy, he was the son of the late Angelo and Margherita Federico. He came with his family to the United States in 1970 and lived in the North End until settling in Malden in 1985. A hardworking man who worked in the construction industry, Rocco provided well for his family. He was a founding member of both the Gizio Club and Club Italia. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry and making wine. A friend to many, Rocco was especially devoted to his wife of 52 years, his children and most especially his grandchildren.
The beloved husband of Carolina (Corsi) Federico, he was a devoted father to Angelo Federico and his wife Tricia of Stoneham, Margherita Federico and her husband Sergio of Malden. He was a loving grandfather to Rocco, Carolina, Alessia, Eva, Dante and was a dear brother of the late Giuseppe Federico.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday from 4 thru 8 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford and again on Saturday morning, December 22nd at 10 followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main Street, Malden, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
