Marie Vasil died Saturday evening at Life Care Center, West Bridgewater after a lengthy illness. Born in Brockton, daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Evelyn M. (Harris) Hayes, she was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1948. She had been employed by A&P Supermarket for 16 years, and retired as a Supervisor from the Brockton Savings Bank after 12 years. For 30 years she had been a resident of Avon, before returning to Brockton.She enjoyed oil painting and needlepoint.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Keating of Brockton, Christine Adamski of Hopkinton, NH, and Karen Pomerleau of Randolph, one son Stephen Vasil of Newton, six grandchildren, Rachel, Daniel and Scott Pomerleau, Taylor and Benjamin Adamski and Lucy Vasil, many nieces and nephews, three sisters, Grace Hayes and Madelyn Venti both of Brockton, and Beverly MacTighe of Halifax and one brother Edward Hayes of Brockton. She was the former wife of the late James F. Vasil and sister of the late Robert Hayes and Bernice Roberts
