Obituary

ELLIOTT, Capt. Philip K., 70, of South Boston, peacefully entered eternal life on Dec. 16, 2012 .
He leaves his two loving daughters, Capt. Brijeon Elliott and fiance Capt. Michael Schiller of Hull MA, and Jennifer (Elliott) Allen and husband Rondey and his cherished grandchildren Isaiah, Lydia, Asa, and R.J. of Easthampton MA, and his devoted family friend and business partner, Ann Hessenius of Boston.
Dear brother of Katherine (Bunny) Baker and husband Dr. George P. Baker of Exeter NH, and Peter S. Elliott and wife Louise of Maitland FL, he also leaves several dear nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.

A 1962 graduate of Brown & Nichols, he attended Univ. of Pennsylvania and Univ. of Texas-Austin before a career with UPI as photojournalist and photo bureau manager in Austin, Dallas, Columbus, Chicago, Germany, Belgium, and Hong Kong. He also served with the U.S. Army as a high-speed missile photographer at White Sands from 1966-1968.

A experienced boat handler since childhood, upon earning a USCG license in 1989 Capt. Elliott co-founded Boston Yacht Charters, and was also president of INTEGRITY Yacht Charters since 1997. A long-time fire buff, he was an avid member and past Secretary of the Boston Sparks Association, and a member of the Knights of Columbus - Council 107, Dorchester MA.

Visiting hours at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester St, South Boston MA 02127 on Thurs. Dec. 20 from 4-8pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Vincent's Church, South Boston on Friday at 10AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Capt. Philip K. Elliott Maritime Scholarship Fund, 656 Dorchester Ave., South Boston, MA 02127 would be kindly appreciated.
Internment services will be private.
