Normand E. Lague, 85, of Lowell, MA died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at his son’s home in Derry, NH following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 18, 1927 in Lowell, MA a son of the late Jack S. and Helen (Eno) Lague. Mr. Lague proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Normand was a store manager for Purity Supreme Supermarket Chain for over 25 years. He was a member of the Centerville Social Club in Lowell. He enjoyed building miniature log cabins. In his younger years, he also enjoyed restoring cars.
He is survived by one son, Ronald A. Lague and his wife Jennifer of Derry, five daughters, Violette Belanger and her husband Richard of Nashua, NH, Janet Collins and her husband Rick of Merrimack, NH, Jackie Lynch and her husband Robert of Andover, MA, Diane “Gina” Lague of Lowell, and Denise Cloutier of Chelmsford, MA, 12 grandchildren, David, Jessica, Melissa, Ryan, Courtney, Allie, Hannah, Christina, Ken, James, Jack and Madison, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years Beatrice P. (Jutras) Lague in 2005 and by his only sibling Fern Taylor.
Following cremation, memorial visiting hours were held on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 6 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA.
