Obituary

CHARLTON-Kathleen “Kate” Early-Scarborough, 48, wife, sister, beloved aunt and friend passed away Sunday, June 27th after a determined fight against Leukemia. Kate was the daughter of the late Francis P. and Margaret L. (Sullivan) Early. She leaves her husband and best friend, Chet Scarborough, 4 sisters, Patricia Nicholson of Plano, TX, Elizabeth Casey of Worcester, Sheila Early of Woodland Hills, CA and Beth Kalp of Worcester, 5 brothers, Francis Early, Jr. of Worcester, Michael Early of Brimfield, Dennis Early of Alexandria, VA, Timothy Early of Sacramento, CA and Matthew Early of Worcester. Kate also leaves her very dear, lifelong friends, Jane and Maryjane Michaud of Worcester. Aunt Kathy also leaves her 20 nieces and nephews, and many aunts and uncles.

Kate was a graduate of the Stockbridge School of Agriculture and was the proprietor of Finally Early’s Floral in Worcester. She was a member of the National Association of Florists and enjoyed spending her time at home in her garden and with her animals. Kate was a breast cancer survivor. She donated her time to several charitable causes such as WHY ME Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundation, various childhood Leukemia causes and the Women’s Health Network Program.

The funeral is Tuesday, June 29th with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In following with Kate’s generous heart, donations may be made in her memory to the WHY ME Foundation, 1152 Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA 01602. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
