Obituary

David W. "Buckwheat" Aranjo, Jr., 63, of New Bedford died June 26, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital unexpectedly.

He was the longtime companion of Bobbie McCarthy of Tewksbury and son of the late David W. and Lillian (Dias) Aranjo.

Mr. Aranjo was born in New Bedford and lived in New Bedford all of his life.

He was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman on several vessels in the New Bedford fleet.

Mr. Aranjo served in the US Air Force.

Survivors include his longtime companion; a son, Michael of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Cindy and Lisa, both of Boston; a brother, Leslie Aranjo of New Bedford; 3 sisters, Phyllis Sabino of North Dartmouth, Mary Maciel and Roseline Viera, both of New Bedford; a granddaughter, Melissa of New Bedford; a godson, David Viera; several nieces and nephews.

He was the Brother of the late Jesse Aranjo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordWednesday at 4 PM.

Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 PM prior to his service.

Interment private.
