Ellinor Vaughan Atkins, 75, of Clarksville, TN, died on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born on September 27, 1937 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the late Oscar Vaughan and Viola Cherry Vaughan. She was also preceded in death by her son, Todd Atkins.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Skip Armistead and Walker McCutcheon officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville, KY.
Ellinor worked at Clarksville Memorial Hospital for thirty years as an ER Registrator. She graduated from Clarksville High School in 1956. She was also a life long member of New Providence United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, MYF Counselor, and sang in the choir.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Atkins of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Beth Atkins Hall (Alan) of Fairhope, AL; two sisters, Carolyn Lewis and Neva Vaughan of Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren, Mary Beth Hall Eringman, Leah Atkins, Blake Atkins, Jillian Hall, Kenleigh Hall, and Noah Atkins; and one great grandson, Alan Michael Todd Eringman.
