Obituary

Dan Reeves, a longtime resident of Natick and the metropolitan Boston area, was a well-known and highly regarded Advertising and Marketing executive. He died unexpectedly on Friday at his home in Blue Bell, PA, where he had been residing in recent years. He was 54.

The son of the late Henry and Madeleine Reeves, Dan attended local Natick schools and Massachusetts College of Art. He began his advertising and marketing career in Boston working as a creative writer for Humphrey, Browning & MacDougall. He then joined a firm founded by his father and ultimately became President and Creative Director of Reeves Drake, a Boston based advertising and marketing agency. After the company was merged with Bozell Worldwide, Dan went on to serve as a Partner and Executive Creative Director at a number of notable firms including Bozell, SFGT and Lorel Marketing Group. Over the course of his career, he received more than 75 creative awards and his work has been featured in numerous industry periodicals, including Ad Age and AdWeek. Dan also served on the faculty of the 4A foundation, a group dedicated to development of advertising and creative talents in the metro Philadelphia area. He lectured on similar topics at area colleges, including the University of Pennsylvania.

Dan leaves his two children, Hannah Reeves and Liam Reeves of Fort Washington, PA. He was the brother of Kathleen Connelly of Natick, MA, Madeleine Walsh of Groton, MA, Maria Whelan of Acton, MA, Martha Reeves of Montague, MA and Hank Reeves of Wellesley Hills, MA. He had fourteen nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) Natick on Wednesday, December 19th at 8:00 AM to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Linus Church in Natick, MA at 9:00 AM. Burial will be held following the service at Glenwood Cemetery, South Natick. Following the services, the family asks for visitors to attend a celebration of Dan’s life, to be held at a location to be announced. There will also be a Memorial service at St Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler, PA at 10:30 AM Friday, December 21st.
