Roger Edward Wildes, 85, of Washington Street, Topsfield, passed away unexpectedly on December 12 2012 at Beverly Hospital. Roger, a lifelong resident of Topsfield, was the son of the late William J. Wildes and Lila M. Wildes. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Joanne M. Wildes and their five children, Cathy Stump and her husband Terry of Sanbornville, NH; Joanne Wilgo of Beverly; Roger Wildes, Jr. and his wife Diane of Groveland; Diana DiTomaso and her husband John of Lynn, and Gary Wildes of Seabrook, NH.
Roger was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, WWII, and served as a volunteer on the Tospfield Fire Department for many years.
He was an adoring grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was loved, admired and respected by all who had the great fortune to know him. He will be dearly missed by his loving family.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 18 at 10 am in the Congregational Church of Topsfield, 9 East Common Street, Topsfield, followed by a burial service at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
