Gregson, John J. of Marshfield, formerly of Westwood, passed away on December 12, 2012 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Margaret (Costello) Gregson. Loving father of Jack Gregson of Marshfield, Maura Gregson of Plymouth and Michael Gregson of Marshfield. Loving grandfather of John P. Gregson, Catherine DeLorenzo, William Gregson and John J. Gregson. Loving great grandfather of Michael DeLorenzo and Melanie and Emily Gregson. Son of the late John and Margaret (McCormack) Giragosian. John was born in Medford and raised in Jamaica Plain. He was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School and Northeastern University.
John was a retired sales manager for the Bureau of National Affairs “BNA”, he began his BNA career in 1963 as a district representative with a Boston territory. After five years in the field, he transferred to the home office in Washington to serve as the sales training manager. ”Gregson College” was a big success and John trained more than 85 newcomers in the three years he was training manager. In 1971 John transferred to Chicago where he became the Midwestern regional manager, and six years later he returned to New England to fill the manager’s slot in that region. John retired from BNA in 1987.
He was the first reader at St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Westwood. Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass is St. Christine’s Church, 1295 Main St. Rte. 3A in Marshfield at 10:00 a.m.
Interment in Couch Cemetery.
