Flore A. “Flo” Laferriere, 95, formerly of Oakton St., Woonsocket, died peacefully Thursday afternoon in North Kingstown. She was the wife of the late Normand J. Laferriere.
Born in St. Aime P.Q. Canada, she was a daughter of the late Alberic and Amanda (Tardif) Belisle. She resided in Woonsocket for most of her life and had lived in North Kingstown for the past several years.
Mrs. Laferriere was employed by Yvonne Moreau Handbag Store and later at Betty Cesario Specialty Shop in Woonsocket and Slatersville.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs.
Flo was a talented seamstress. She kept abreast of daily events faithfully looking at Jumble puzzle, crossword puzzles, her horoscope and the sports page where she kept up with the Red Sox and Celtics. She also like to play cards and Yatzee.
Flo will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter Jeanne-Anne Laferriere of Narragansett, a son-in-law Robert M. Geruso of North Smithfield, and two grandchildren Michael Geruso, and his wife April, of Brookline, MA and Christopher Geruso, and his fiancé Amber Smith, of Atlanta, GA. She was the mother of the late Suzanne M. Geruso. She was the sister of Candide Belisle, Therese Gauvin and Simone Pointon and the late Euclide “Spud”, Camille, Lionel, Robert, Richard, Rhea, and Albanie Belisle and Laury Berard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in Our Lady Queen of Martyr’s Church, Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery. Bellingham. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-7 pm.
