Obituary

Fernande R. “Fern” (Gaulin) Talbot 90, a longtime resident of Brockton, passed away Thursday December 13 surrounded by her loving family in St. Joseph Manor of Brockton. She was the beloved wife of the late Napoleon Talbot.

Born and raised in Canada, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Valerie (Faucher) Gaulin, and as young woman Fernande had worked at the infamous Chateau Frontenac Hotel in Quebec City.

Fern had been a resident of Brockton since 1962, and before her retirement had worked seventeen years as an electronics assembler for Alden Products of Brockton. She was a longtime and devoted parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church in Brockton.

She loved to bowl and play bingo, but her greatest joy came from the time spent with her family and her four granddaughters whom she adored.

She is survived by her loving children Maurice Talbot and his wife Grace of Norton, and Louise (Talbot) Coates and her husband David of Whitman, her granddaughters Kristen Coates and her spouse Miguel Monteiro, Jessica (Coates) Andrade and her spouse Anderson Andrade, Lindsey Coates and Leanne Talbot. She is also survived by her great granddaughter Norah Monteiro and soon to be great grandson “Baby David Monteiro” as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her ten siblings.

Her services will be held Tuesday December 18 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Visiting hours will be held Monday December 17 from 4-8 PM.
