Clara C. Vecchiarello, a long time Somerville resident, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital, on Thursday, June 25, the wife of the late Nicholas A. Vecchiarello she was eighty nine years old.
Born and raised in Boston she was the daughter of the late Maria R. (Pepe) and Vincenzo (Casazza). Clara and her late husband owned and operated Gus´s Meat Market in Cambridge for many years untill she joined Stop and Shop in Medford and worked in there deli department untill her retirement. Clara was devoted to her family and enjoyed being active until her sudden death.
She is survived by her two sons Robert N. of Plymouth and Dennis A. of Billerica, two daughters Lisa Galante Vecchiarello of Wakefiled and Mary Vecchiarello of Somerville. Also eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the sister of Margarte Maffei of Norwood and the mother in law of Jean Vecchiarello of Plymouth, Carolyn Vecchiarello of Billerica, Gino Galante of Watertown and Steve Pilla of Somerville.
Along with her husband she was predeceased by her sister Lisa Casazza.Her funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Tuesday, June 29, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Benedict Church, 25 Arlington St. Somerville at 10. Services will conclude with entombment in St. Michael Community Mausoleum, Boston.
