Obituary

Therese M. (Maynard) Fahlbeck, 90, of Worcester passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, December 11th at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Her beloved husband of 30 years, Carl O. Fahlbeck, Sr. died on July 9th, 1970 She is survived by her brother, Robert Maynard of Worcester; 9 of her 15 children, Jeanne M. Whitney, Robert F. Fahlbeck, Janice A. Fahlbeck, Christine R Falhbeck, Claire E. Maroney, Susan Fahlbeck, Therese Fahlbeck, Peter M. Fahlbeck and Rose M. Smola; 26 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Therese was predeceased by her brother, Homer L. Maynard, Leon A. Maynard and Ernest Maynard; three sons, Norman C., Ronald R., Carl O. Fahlbeck, Jr.; three daughters, Cecile T. Lazarick, Anne M. Butler and Marie E. Vigeant and a granddaughter, Stephanie Ann.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Albert C. and Clara R. (Paradis) Maynard and attended Holy Family High School. Therese was well known for her beautiful voice and sang at many wedding and funerals at Our Lady of the Angels Church as well at other area churches. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and attended and Lectured at St. Peter’s Church. Mrs. Fahlbeck was also famous for her delicious fudge. Therese was known as “The Fudge Lady” by Bishop Rueger.
Therese’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. Francis Day Health for their loving and excellent care.
Her funeral is Friday, December 14th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, December 14th from 8:30 until 10:30 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Family Center Campaign, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603
