James “Beau” Walker, Sr., 73, passed away at his home December 11,2012.
He was an Army veteran of 30 years with the rank of Master Sargent, former radio announcer for WINN, WVEZ and WAKY, he coached girl basketball at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, boys baseball at Beechmont, auxiliary member of St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, Volunteer at Saintly Treasurer and Sisters of Charity candy for caring.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Barbara A. (Brumleve) Walker; sons Andrew C. Walker, James S. Walker Jr.(Tracy) and Kenneth D. Walker (Julie); grandchildren Brittney M.,Jon-Michael, Jacob and Travis Walker (Katie) and special family friend Renea Briggs.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 4 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with cremation to follow.
Inurnment will be Kentucky Veteran Cemetery Central. Visitation will be Thursday 11:00 A.M.- 4:00 P.M.
