Obituary

Margaret Ellen (O’Neil) Larrivee, 87 years of Brockton died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Edmund and Velma E. (Stephens) O’Neil.
Margaret was a Navy veteran who served during WWII on the Commander and Chief’s staff for President Harry S. Truman in Washington, DC., and received a Victory Ribbon. Throughout her life she held many clerical positions including working at Lakeville State Hospital and the Paul A. Dever School retiring at the age of 75.
She enjoyed reading mystery and spy novels, watching movies, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her two daughters. Margaret also loved all animals, especially the family cat Melissa, who will miss her very much.
She is survived by her two daughters Gail L. Larrivee of Brockton and Linda E. White and her husband Frederick of Whitman and a nephew Thomas E. O’Neil. She was the sister of the late Edmund A. O’Neil.
A Graveside Service with military honors will be held at Melrose Cemetery on Wednesday, December 12, at 11 am.
