Benon Y. Kozik, 83, of Dartmouth died Wednesday June 23, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Shirley (Lafferty) Kozik.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Antoni and Victoria (Leisciski) Kozik, he had lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for most of his life.
Mr. Kozik was formerly employed as a foreman at Rodney Metals until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James B. Kozik and his wife Maura, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, and Benon J. Kozik and his wife Debbie, of Auburn, MA; a daughter, Marcia Douglas and her husband Lance, of Lakeville; a brother, Henry V. Kozik of New Bedford; and four grandchildren, Janna Kozik, Jeffrey Kozik, Samantha Kozik and Max Douglas.
He was the brother of the late Adolph Kozik and Isabel Kozik.
A private Graveside Service was held on Friday morning June 25, 2004 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
